The Timber Piling Council provides information on the use of timber piling to structural and geotechnical engineers, and promotes the use of timber piles in the construction industry. Timber piles have been used for centuries to support man-made structures, and they are an economical piling solution as well as environmentally sound and safe.

The Timber Piling Council is supported by the producers of timber piling and their chemical and timber suppliers. The user is urged to review the Disclaimer and to make his or her own independent evaluation of the informa-tion.

Pressure Treated Timber Piles
Pressure treatment is a process that forces chemical preservatives deep into the cellular structure of the wood in a closed cylinder under pressure. This pressure enables the preserved wood to maintain a chemical barrier against termites, decay and marine borers.
